01Who we are and accepting these terms
“Shelrock”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the Shelrock platform and the business that operates it. Shelrock is the digital sourcing, trade-intelligence and managed-trade service of Shim International Import Export Co. (“SIIECO”), with a UK team in London and an execution team in India.
By using the website, creating an account, submitting a requirement, registering as a supplier, buying a paid service or taking part in any trade introduced through Shelrock, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you use Shelrock on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind that company, and “you” includes that company, its affiliates and its representatives.
If you do not agree, please do not use Shelrock.

03How Shelrock works
Shelrock is a managed trade platform for the India–UK corridor. We verify suppliers before they are shown publicly, receive buyer requirements, decide which suppliers are invited to quote, negotiate commercial terms and coordinate quality, documents and shipment within the agreed scope.
Shelrock is not an open directory and does not offer direct buyer-to-supplier dealing. Supplier company names are shown by Supplier ID, and contact details are shared only when a trade requires it and on Shelrock's terms.
Website content, listings, indicative prices and AI responses are information only. They do not create a contract for the sale or purchase of goods. A trade becomes binding only when a written quotation, purchase order or agreement is confirmed by the parties concerned.
04Accounts and sign-in
Buyers and suppliers sign in through the same Sign In page. You must give accurate, current information, use a business email you control and keep your password secure. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
One person or business may not create multiple accounts to avoid a decision, limit or restriction. Tell us straight away at info@shelrock.com if you think your account has been misused.
05Buyers
Submitting a requirement is free and does not commit you to buy. You are responsible for describing your requirement accurately and for approving the final specification, quotation, Incoterm, payment terms and any destination-market obligations (such as import licences, customs, labelling and product safety) before placing an order.
Where Shelrock coordinates quality checks, documents or logistics, that support is provided within the agreed scope and does not replace your own responsibilities as the importer or buyer.
06Suppliers, verification and listings
Suppliers must provide true and complete information about their company, registrations, products, capacity, certifications, test reports and photos. We may ask for evidence, and we may decline, pause, edit or remove any account or listing at our discretion, including where information cannot be verified or is not commercially suitable.
- No listing is published until it is approved by Shelrock OPS. Each verified supplier gets a permanent Supplier ID.
- Product photos must be genuine and must not show your company name, brand name, logo, website, phone number or other contact details.
- Up to 5 products may be listed free. Listing more products may require a paid plan, as shown when you add them.
- Listing on Shelrock does not guarantee enquiries, quotations, buyer introductions or orders.
07Lead allocation and quotations
When a buyer requirement arrives, Shelrock OPS and our team decide which suppliers are invited to quote. Allocation is based on fit, including product, specification, capacity, readiness, verification status, responsiveness and past performance. Leads and placement are not for sale, and payment of any fee does not guarantee a lead.
Suppliers who quote must honour the prices, terms and validity periods they submit. Quotations are presented to buyers through Shelrock, and Shelrock leads the negotiation.
08Fees, paid services and payments
Some services are paid, including buyer intelligence reports and buyer lists, the UK-Ready Pack and listing plans. The price, what is included, the delivery timeline and any taxes are shown before you pay. Payments are processed by our payment provider, and Shelrock does not store your full card details.
- Buyer intelligence reports and lists are licensed to you for your own internal business use only. You may not resell, publish or share them.
- The UK-Ready Pack is a one-time service delivered to the scope and timeline set out when you enrol.
- Refunds apply only as stated at the point of purchase, or where the law requires them.
09Shelrock's margin on trades
Shelrock is paid for originating and managing trades. For every Shelrock Transaction, Shelrock earns a margin or commission. It may be built into the price quoted to the buyer, charged to the supplier, or both, as set out in the relevant quotation, order or supplier agreement.
Suppliers agree that Shelrock's margin applies to all orders with a Protected Party during the protection period in section 10, including repeat orders and orders placed outside the platform.
10Non-circumvention: 36-month protection
Any lead, buyer, supplier or deal that comes through Shelrock is locked to Shelrock for 36 months.
This protection runs for 36 months from the date of the most recent introduction, enquiry, quotation or transaction involving that Protected Party through Shelrock.
During the protection period, you must not, directly or indirectly (including through an affiliate, related company, new entity, director, employee, agent or any other person):
- contact, solicit, negotiate, quote, contract or trade with a Protected Party outside Shelrock for the same, similar or substitute products;
- use any Confidential Information to reach or deal with a Protected Party, or to help anyone else do so;
- encourage a Protected Party to bypass Shelrock, or accept an approach from a Protected Party to do so without telling Shelrock; or
- structure, split or disguise a deal to avoid Shelrock's involvement or margin.
If a Protected Party approaches you directly, you must refer them to Shelrock.
If you breach this section:
- you must pay Shelrock the full margin or commission it would have earned on each transaction made in breach, as well as Shelrock's reasonable costs of recovery; and
- Shelrock may suspend or close your account, remove your listings and badges, and seek an injunction or any other remedy available to it.
This section continues to apply after your account is closed.
11Confidentiality and information protection
Confidential Information includes:
- the identity and contact details of any buyer, supplier or other Protected Party;
- requirements, specifications, volumes, prices, quotations, margins and commercial terms;
- buyer intelligence reports and lists;
- Supplier IDs linked to real company details;
- anything else about the platform that is not public.
You must:
- use Confidential Information only for the Shelrock Transaction it was shared for;
- not disclose, copy, publish, sell or leak it to anyone else;
- limit access within your business to people who need it and are bound by the same duty; and
- protect it with at least reasonable security.
These duties last during your use of Shelrock and for 5 years after it ends. For trade secrets and personal data, they last for as long as the information stays confidential.
A leak or misuse of Confidential Information is a serious breach. Shelrock may suspend access immediately and hold you responsible for any resulting loss.
12Rights and intellectual property
All rights in Shelrock belong to Shelrock or its licensors. This includes the website, software, design, brand, Supplier IDs, listing formats, trade intelligence, articles, calculators, reports, buyer lists, data compilations, and all lead, enquiry and transaction data generated through the platform. Using Shelrock gives you no ownership of any of it and no licence beyond using the service as these terms allow.
You keep ownership of materials you already own. By submitting content (including product details, photos, specifications, documents and company information), you grant Shelrock a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free and transferable licence to use, host, copy, edit, format, translate, publish and share that content. This licence covers operating, verifying, marketing and improving Shelrock, including on listings, profiles, reports and promotional material. You confirm you have the right to grant this licence.
Any feedback or suggestions you give about Shelrock may be used by Shelrock freely, without any duty to you.
13UK-Ready Verified badge
The UK-Ready Verified badge is awarded only to suppliers who buy and complete the UK-Ready Pack and meet its readiness checklist, as assessed by Shelrock. The badge:
- is valid for 12 months and may be renewed subject to a fresh review;
- may be suspended or withdrawn if information changes, compliance lapses or these terms are breached; and
- may only be displayed while it is active, and only in the way Shelrock allows.
The badge reflects Shelrock's readiness review at a point in time. It is not a government certification and does not guarantee orders.
14Trade intelligence, data and Shelrock AI
Trade intelligence, import statistics, calculators, buyer reports and AI responses help you make decisions, but they may be simplified, incomplete or out of date. Some data comes from public sources, such as UK government trade statistics and company registers. It is used under the terms of those sources and may not reflect every transaction.
AI output is not a quotation, legal advice, a customs ruling or a compliance approval. Check important decisions against official sources and professional advice.
15Acceptable use
You must not:
- give false or misleading information, or impersonate anyone;
- scrape, copy, harvest or bulk-download listings, Supplier IDs, reports or data;
- try to identify suppliers or buyers so you can deal with them outside Shelrock;
- access another user's account or interfere with the platform's security;
- upload malicious code or unlawful, infringing or offensive content; or
- use Shelrock for fraud, sanctions evasion, prohibited goods or any other unlawful trade.
16No guaranteed outcome
Shelrock works to make trades succeed, but we do not guarantee:
- that you will receive any enquiry, lead, quotation, buyer, supplier or order;
- any price, delivery date or specific commercial result; or
- any decision by customs, regulators, laboratories, carriers, banks or other third parties.
The Shelrock Guarantee describes the controls we apply; it is not a promise of any particular outcome.
17Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Otherwise, to the extent the law allows:
- Shelrock is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, business, goodwill or data.
- Shelrock is not liable for the acts or omissions of buyers, suppliers, carriers or other third parties.
- Shelrock's total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid to Shelrock in the 12 months before the claim arose, or £100 if you paid no fees.
The goods themselves, and liability for them, are governed by the relevant quotation, order or contract.
18Indemnity
You agree to compensate Shelrock for any losses, costs, claims and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- your breach of these terms, including sections 10, 11 and 15;
- inaccurate information you provide; or
- content you submit that infringes someone else's rights.
19Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Shelrock may suspend or close any account, listing or badge, or refuse service, where reasonably necessary. This includes suspected breach, fraud, non-circumvention or confidentiality concerns, and protecting users or the platform.
Sections 9 to 12 and 16 to 20 continue to apply after your account is closed.
20Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Shelrock may also bring proceedings to protect its rights, including under sections 10 to 12, in any country where you are based or carry on business.
For trade disputes between buyers and suppliers, the agreed claims process applies first. Shelrock mediation comes next, then independent third-party inspection where relevant. Legal proceedings are the last step.
21Changes and contact
We may update these terms as Shelrock develops. The latest version will always be on this page with its update date. Material changes will be notified to account holders by email or in the workspace. Continuing to use Shelrock after an update means you accept the updated terms.
Questions about these terms: info@shelrock.com or the Contact page.
